26 and Fabulous
The days leading up to me moving out of my apartment were insane. So insane that my eyes started to twitch as a result of stress and lack of sleep. So, it is safe to say that on the night of my last night living it Long Beach I was in utter shock that my friends and family had managed to plan a surprise birthday and going away party for me. Surprised because I am the type of person where it’s hard keeping things from me I always have a way of finding out. What I initially thought to be going over my friend’s house then going to a rooftop bar turned out to be a party with so many of my friends in attendance.
Turning 26 was not as emotional as turning 25 for me. The months leading up to 26 were great—I landed a new management position, I was relocating to an area that a few months ago I had visited and really prayed that I could one day live there only for it to happen a few months later,my credit score turned crazy high and I was overall just satisfied with everything that was going on in my life.
I learned to let go of the “everything has to happen by 25” mantra and just enjoy and relax!
Aside from my sentiments about the wonderful things that happened during the months of me nearing 26, I could not help but think how blessed I am! Cheers to 26!
